Book a Speaker
Peter Barratt talking at Women of the Year
Radio 4 Saturday Live
Peter Barratt is an accomplished and enthusiastic speaker on the life of his great-grandmother Alice. With oral history passed down over the family generations and illustrated by suffrage memorabilia that once belonged to Alice it is an engaging and fascinating account of one woman’s campaign for equality at the ballot box.
A guest on many local and national radio and TV programmes, including BBC The One Show, BBC2 Jeremy Vine, BBC3 Sunday Feature, BBC4 Saturday Live and more.
Previous speaker venues include the Edinburgh Fringe, Houses of Parliament, The National Archives and numerous adult groups and societies. Schools are a speciality including both primary and secondary.
At the Edinburgh Fringe and at selected venues around the UK, Peter and actress Ruth Pownall perform a dramatized spoken word show of Alice’s life and campaign for ‘the vote’. The show is performed to sell out audiences and is scheduled for the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023.
