Memorabilia

Alice’s suffragette memorabilia is still with her descendants and considered to be one of the most complete suffrage collections in the UK today. A selection of the items illustrated here were loaned to Parliament in 2018 to support their centenary year exhibition, ‘Voice and Vote: Women’s Place in Parliament’.

The postcards are an interesting feature and tell the story of who Alice personally met and campaigned with. The cards would have been the ‘calling cards’ of the women involved, being handed to Alice when first meeting.
